Introduction Blog

Hi there!

My name is Kaylee Reed. I am from the Sacramento area and got my Associate’s degree from American River College in Administration of Justice in May of 2019. Then I moved to Chico to finish my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Environmental Studies at California State University, Chico this past May. People always question the mix of my major and minor, but it makes sense to me since I knew I wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement with the Forest Service. I am now living in Nevada City, California working as a Resource Assistant with Environment for the Americas and gaining experience on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit and Tahoe National Forest with United States Forest Service as a Law Enforcement Trainee.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity I have with this program and cannot wait to see how much I learn and grow within the next six months. I am looking forward to working with the Forest Service and experiencing the different roles that a law enforcement officer fills in their day to day life, in hopes of making this a career for myself in the future.
