08 Oct Introduction Blog

Greetings! I am Lonnie Johnson III, and I am currently interning with the Forest Service as a Law Enforcement Trainee. I am originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and I relocated to Tallahassee, Florida in 2013 where I received my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in political science. Shortly after I received my master’s degree in global security and international affairs, while working as a confinement officer at a Florida state prison.
I am currently assigned to the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest where I work closely with the Ogden District. I am extremely excited about this internship because I have had a strong passion and desire to enter federal law enforcement since the beginning of my collegiate days. Also, I believe that this internship is getting me out of my comfort zone and exposing me to amazing things that I never imagined doing while working in law enforcement. I am eager to learn as much as possible through my training process and hope to successfully pass all the required steps to eventually be a federal law enforcement officer.
