Pioneers of the Mountains

Most have heard the old saying, “Wagons East.”

Here on the west side of the Rocky Mountains, there is no exception to this manifest destiny.

Just a few miles north passing the Grand Lake entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, visitors will find the Holzwarth Historic site. This area is made famous by the ranch created by Sophia and John Holzwarth. Here I had the honor of handling antiques, as well as being able to put together structures of the past. However, this was just the first few days, as the weather here in the Rockies can be somewhat dramatic; I have already experienced the fluctuations between sunny days and flurry blizzards. The Rocky Mountains are definitely a sight to behold, with their snowy peaks, vast meadows, and glistening lakes. I’ll be sharing these beautiful landscapes over these next two months, to entice every viewer to become a pioneer in their own way, as I am doing at this moment in my life.
