27 Jun The Importance of a First Impression
Working at Congaree National Park for a second time reminded me how important a good first impression is when working to build a meaningful connection with people. This summer, I’ve interacted with countless people, some new and some old. As I’ve worked to reestablish the connections, I formed last summer. While reconnecting with them, I learned more about the impact and impression I left on them through my work last summer. This reinforced something I already knew: the importance of building an active network with as many people as possible. This can only be accomplished by strengthening and building relationships with your coworkers and anyone you meet or interact with. The importance of professionalism can’t be overstated. As you never know where your next opportunity might come from.
