About Mark Twain National Forest

The forest I’m working in is the Mark Twain National Forest, which is located in the southern half of Missouri. It was founded in 1939 and named after Mark Twain; who is also famous for his short stories and books, such as ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer‘. The forest encompasses 1.5 million acres and over 750 miles of trails for different recreation opportunities. The forest is always gorgeous to look at while working and very peaceful! I love working over here at Mark Twain National Forest.
