29 Aug Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest by DeTroy James (EFTA)

Hello Everyone, My name is DeTroy James and I am currently working in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. This forest is located in Southern Oregon. The Siskiyou National Forest was established in 1906 and the Rouge River National Forest was established in 1893. The formerly separate Rogue River and Siskiyou National Forest were administratively combined in 2004. Now, the forest ranges from the crest of the Cascade Range west into the Siskiyou Mountains, covering almost 1.8 million acres. Forest headquarters is located in Medford, OR.

Nearly all of the national forest is mountainous and includes parts of the Southern Oregon Coast Range, Klamath Mountains, and the Cascade Range. The largest river in the national forest is the Rogue River which originates in the Cascade Range. The Illinois River is also a major tributary of the Rogue in the Klamath Mountains.

I truly enjoy being here at the Rouge River-Siskiyou National Forest. There are a lot of fun places to hike, raft, sightsee, and so on. The Oregon Coast is also a short drive from the national forest. Southern Oregon is gorgeous and have everything that an adventure seeker would hope to look for.
