07 Sep Networking is King!!!
When entering any field, it is important to make connection with every person you meet. In the wildlife field, doubly so as there are many projects and surveys happening all at once. Knowing the right people will help you get in are opportunities that many not be available to the public. This also goes for temporary and permanent positions in the wildlife field as many research teams consists of a few people, most of which would rather work with someone they know. Giving a face to a resume is invaluable and could very well make or break a job offer in this very competitive field. So be social and meet as many people as you can, save business cards and ask for contact information when you can.
