20 Dec Diana Sarmiento’s Introduction
Hey everyone! My name is Diana and I am the new intern here in Oregon at the Willamette Valley National Wildlife Refuge Complex. My official title is the Latino engagement and visitor services specialist coordinator. I’m super excited to be in a new state and explore but also of course help out with all the awesome projects and programs they have going on at the refuges.
I was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas and also graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in environmental studies and anthropology. This is actually my first time on the west coast! Before this position I was on the east coast where I was an intern for EFTA through the Latino Heritage Internship Program. I was an interpretation and visitor services intern at Shenandoah National Park.
I am grateful for this new opportunity and excited to share some experiences through these blog posts 🙂
