11 Apr Saying Hello…to my Virtual Background!

It’s been over a month since I started on the Diversity, Development, and Diversity Team in the National Partnership Office. My team and Mentor have been great in not only training me in complicated processes within the Forest Service but giving me work I find impactful. I have already been given the lead on a project where I would facilitate a peer-led DEIA (diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility) training series for the National Partnership Office and other staff. Though this is a big undertaking, my mentor and other DDO staff are guiding me through every step, from talking with the contractor, making the contract agreement, and submitting it into our system for approval. In general, I like to think that I am already a beloved member of the larger NPO since I was the person who was in charge of ordering forest service NPO shirts! And everyone loves shirts!

I also have been getting plenty of compliments on my virtual background. There are a nice amount of options available so that you can get out of that boring “contemporary office space 2” background that everyone uses. I like animals so I personally like all the backgrounds that feature wildlife. Warning: the background will not cover your cat.
