Introduction-Blanca Trujillo

Hi everyone!

My name is Blanca Trujillo. I am from Houston, Texas, but now live in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I graduated from Northern Michigan University (NMU) with a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management. One of my goals this summer is to help people from all backgrounds feel welcome to explore outdoor activities, while gaining an appreciation for nature.

This summer, I am a Fish and Feathers intern, and will be working at Cane River Creole National Historical Park in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My responsibilities will include: assisting park visitors, introducing and engaging groups in birding and fishing activities, emphasizing appreciation of our natural surroundings through observation. I am excited to meet and learn from my park mentors, members of the community, and learn more about the history and culture of this park. I have also always wanted to work in Louisiana in order to experience more of its vibrant culture, as well as its unique ecosystem.
