10 May Trip to DC with the USDA Climate Hubs
I have always dreamt of a job that offers the opportunity to travel for work. So I was beyond excited when I was invited to Washington, D.C. as part of my RAship.
My team in the USDA Climate Hubs National Office hosted the Climate Hub Directors Forum on March 30 and 31st in the Yates Building in D.C. As part of the National Office, I helped with some of the preparation and logistics of the meetings – guest lists, name tags, printing handouts, setting up Teams calls for virtual participants, etc. I got to meet most of the Climate Hub Directors in person, as well as many important agency leaders. On Friday, we got visit the Whitten Building to meet with USDA Secretary Vilsack. He spoke to the Directors about opportunities to work more closely with the Climate Hubs.

In addition to all the great work we did that week, I got to explore a little of DC. I met with a fellow RAP intern for dinner, got to see the cherry blossoms, went to a museum and biked around the city. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow professionally through these really fun experiences. I am excited take advantage of all this program has to offer!
