22 May Boi-SEE What I’m Up To
I had the opportunity to attend a training that was hosted by both the Forest Service and Chicago Botanical Gardens that covered plant identification and seed collection. I got to travel to Boise, Idaho and stay there for a few days while the training was taking place. I found it very informative, and I enjoyed that it was a hybrid training so there were field days too. Working on plant identification using vouchers (pressed plants) and using GIS for data collection was the most informative and skills I will use often. The highlight was visting the Lucky Peak Nursery to see where seed gets cleaned, stored, and grown in both greenhouses and in the fields.
