New River Gorge: One of the Oldest Rivers in the World!

I have finally made it! We completed our (seemingly) never-ending drive from Georgia to West Virginia. I have traveled to many places domestically and internationally, but West Virginia has never crossed my mind. Once I reached the Appalachian Mountains, just seeing the landscape was mesmerizing. The overall formation made me question how all of this could be real.

For my first day at New River Gorge National Park & Preserve, we spent the day touring the park. The day felt long due to many sites being spread out from one another. To get from one place to the next could take 30-45 minutes. Even though the ride was long, the sights were worth every minute. Each site had its unique view of the river. If anyone decides to visit, I recommend staying the weekend and taking your time.
