06 Jul Boats and Rain in the Chugach, AK

I have been in Alaska for about three weeks. I have never had this much information about Glaciers crammed into my brain in such a short time. I have had a fantastic time touring and shadowing on boats that hold anywhere from 30 to 300 people, from small catamaran boats to large vessels. I have seen views from the Alaska Railroad train car that I couldn’t even dream of. With each trip comes breathtaking views of mountains, wildlife, and… glaciers. I have seen my first moose, black bear, sea otter, seals, and humpback whales. The crash course on Portage Valley is intense out here, but with the help and support of all the amazing people working here, you get the hang of it pretty quickly! I am genuinely so excited for what the rest of my time here has to offer. <3
