18 Aug And so it ends
It’s hard to believe that my internship has come to an end. However, that doesn’t take away from how grateful I am to have been able to go though such an incredible experience. This has to be one of the best summers that I’ve had thus far. Even the journey of going to and from Washington was just as much of an adventure. I accomplished many things during my internship at McNary NWRC. My mentors and colleagues all encouraged me to learn and experience the many aspects of a wildlife refuge as much as I could this summer. This meant interacting with visitors, conducting burrowing owl surveys, going on spray trips, and many. many more. activities. Through EFTA, I was able to visit places that I have long wished to visit. I’ve even went to places I never heard of! Boy was it amazing to go either way. Who knew that going to a Bavarian town would be such an incredible experience! I can easily say that this experience has really satiated my hunger for adventure. This internship especially fueled the flames and helped me realize that I truly want to be involved in conservation work. I’ve already had a passion for wildlife, but after all the experiences I’ve gone through, I’m craving for more. I’ve learned and grown so much in such a short amount of time, and there aren’t enough words to explain how grateful I am. I hope that I’ll be a part of many more projects and adventures. Thank you so much to EFTA, MANNRS, and The USFWS for this wonderful adventure of the summer. An even bigger thank you to Stephanie. Nichole, Lamont, Sarah, Elin, and Chelsea.
And now- a Photo Montage!
