Life in a Northern Town

Mendenhall Glacier

I’ve been here in Alaska for around two months now, and I can say with confidence I still cannot get over the views here. I’ve had the opportunity to hike with some amazing people up here. Some right by work to get a lay of the land, and others further out about 40 minutes away where all you can hear is nature. It still amazes me that there is so much diversity in its views here, especially when I found out about the micro-climates we have. So being that I work next to Mendenhall Glacier you could imagine how cold it can be. Where as if I would cross the bridge to North Douglas and visit the Beach you could fell the rays of the sun and be fine with wearing a t-shirt, instead of layers of clothing.
