23 May Tia Camacho – Fish and Feathers Interns Introduction

My name is Tia Camacho. I will be working under the Environment of the Americas as a Fish and Feathers intern. My site is the American Memorial Park on the island of Saipan. This summer (2024) I will be working on outreach stations that will be promoting fishing gear and binoculars & birding lending programs with informational resources to the community of Saipan.

To add to who I am, I was born and raised in the Northern Mariana Islands on Saipan. Some of my favorite hobbies consist of fishing, snorkeling, free-diving, spending time with my family and friends. I also, enjoy hiking and watching our island’s sunsets.

This summer, I am looking forward to being outside more and actively interacting with Saipan’s community through my upcoming outreach programs as well as working with the rangers of American Memorial Park.
