Robert Weber – Fish and Feathers Intern Introduction

Hello everyone!!

My name is Robert Weber, and I am a senior at Florida International University (FIU, for short) studying both Biology and Natural & Applied Sciences. I am born and raised in Miami, Florida where I love to spend my free time reading, hiking, and birding! Specifically, I love going to a golf course near my house and birdwatching there. Typically, in the spring-summer I will see a whole lot of burrowing owl owlets! It’s here where I try to visit each nest once a week and note down the number of owls in the one nest just because I love collecting and visualizing data!

This summer I will be mostly working in the Everglades with weekly trips to Biscayne National Park to help with fishing, birding, and canoeing clinics! I also will be developing educational materials to help bring birding and fishing into libraries and schools! I am super excited and grateful for the opportunity to see the inner workings of the National Park Service and to work in a park that I love to visit.
