18 Jun How is AMME?
More commonly known and referred to as American Memorial Park.
It has been a few weeks since I started as a Fish and Feathers intern here at American Memorial Park. My experience? So great!! This summer is already super busy and I wouldn’t have it any other way. After, the onboarding during my first week, we dove into making preparations for our many upcoming programs and some of our program’s have already been completed: Jr. Ranger program, birding programs, bus tours, preparing for up coming fishing clinics and for our outreach station for Saipan’s Oceans month. We have also been preparing for the upcoming wreath laying celebrating the 80th anniversary since the WWII, campaign for the Marianas ended. I’ve been working closely with most of our Rangers’ here and they are so amazing! Their interpretation skills are inspiring. Working with them is seriously such a cool experience.

On another note, this year our Flame Trees are in full bloom all over the park! Though, they aren’t native to Saipan, CNMI, they are gorgeous, regardless. They haven’t been this abundant in years since we got hit by two super typhoons, so it’s really amazing to see how they’ve healed and are showing off their bloom this summer. Also, peep that perched Collard Kingfisher who is probably looking for their next meal!
