30 Jul My Favorite Part

As my internship comes to an end, I reflect on what my favorite part was.

Working with the NPS rangers, PHP staff and other interns at American Memorial Park has been so amazing. Their ability to work together as a team and keep their flexibility to work around each other’s duties to support one another is admirable. Everyone is so hands-on and they have really created such a welcoming environment at our park.

They have taught me so much about interp., history, broadened my knowledge about birds and fishing, and how to get creative with the resources we have. This opportunity has opened my eyes about National Parks and especially about American Memorial Park where I had grown up visiting. I feel that my skillsets in speaking to public groups, guiding people and being actively involved during our events have increased this summer.

I have grown more excited to be able to help educate others with the new skills and information I have learned. I’m grateful to have been able to work alongside all the staff as they have made my summer experience as an intern here a truly memorable one.

The whole intern experience has been my favorite part!
