Hi, my name is Althia Gagny and this summer I’m going to be interning with Environment for the Americas at the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Site in Pucket, Rhode Island. Um, I’m local to the area. I grew up on the Massachusetts border, so I’m already kind of familiar with the area, but there are still some things to be learned, which I’m really excited about. Um, I’m going to be interning with the fish and fish and feathers program. Um, and I think that outdoor recreational activities are really important for um,  educating diverse communities. And so that’s why I think that me working at this site will be a really awesome experience for me and engaging the local communities in outdoor recreational activities like birding and fishing.
