This internship will focus on organizing the park’s oral history information into archival collections and creating finding aids. The intern will work alongside the park cultural resource staff to learn the steps necessary to process and organize archival records.

Homestead National Monument of America has over 125 oral history interviews from multiple projects including interviews conducted by former Latino Heritage interns. The intern will complete finding aids for some of oral history collections: Park History, Freeman School, Dempster Employees, and Alaska Homesteaders. The intern will also help determine any preservation or legal needs of the oral history collections. Additional duties will include cataloging museum objects, data entry in the National Park Service museum database, assisting with the annual museum inventory, environmental monitoring, housekeeping, and visitor services.
