Civil Engineer Trainee Resource Assistant – ONSITE – Ottawa National Forest

Start/End Dates: February 5, 2024 – September 30, 2024

Compensation: $650 per week + $1000 monthly for housing

Position Description: 

Incumbent will be conducting road and sign surveys, inventory, and flagging for transportation planning; inspecting construction of a variety of transportation and recreation infrastructure; designing low- and moderate-volume roads, culverts, boat landings and other infrastructure; putting together contract packages for bid, and working with interdisciplinary teams to mitigate impacts of transportation infrastructure on the natural forest settings and watersheds in which they are built.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Exposure to civil engineering work, whether it was inspection, materials testing, design or some other aspect. A demonstrated ability to work in diverse weather and topography.

  • Successful working alone and in teams
